. . .

I really didn't want to like this anime, but I ended up liking it after the third episode. Damn it.

It's the characters that kept my interest. That and the design of Death City and other things like that. I can't say that this is the most original anime ever, but one thing that I really like was that it actually has a female protagonist named Maka. This isn't her, obviously. This is Crona, a character that has REALLY low self-esteem. At first Crona freaked me the hell out, but when I continued watching I realized that his abnormal behavior really wasn't his fault.

. . . he's actually a sweetheart and I love him in a non-creepy rabid way. D:

And then there's of course all the questions of whether Crona's a girl or boy, but I like to think of him as a boy. I haven't read the manga, but apparently it doesn't actually refer to Crona as a girl or boy, but in the anime they decided to have the other characters call Crona a guy just to make things a little less confusing. But of course, that really didn't. That just made people want to know more. *facepalm*

*COMMENCE RANTING*

Freaking Soul Eater. Augh. Really didn't want to like it (I judge a lot of anime before watching it because a lot of them are similar in plot/characters), but I ended up liking it anyway. I'll admit that it's not my favorite, but I do like it. I'd personally choose Fullmetal Alchemist over this since that anime is a bit more logical, but still.

There's a lot of things that bother me about Soul Eater. Like, I understand that the character's souls determine their power and whatever, but it still kind of confuses me. And whenever someone gets stabbed in the chest (which seems to happen ALL THE TIME in a really dramatic way) the person never dies. Don't worry, they're bleeding to death, but y'know, apparently that doesn't matter because they're still alright and continue to fight. And then there's other times where it appears that they're going to die, so . . . umm . . . okay. I always thought getting stabbed through the chest pretty much assures that the character will just lay there in pain, but what do I know? It's anime, so I can't just say that. Pfft. I dunno. Magical human beings. :iconwthplz:

That kinda made me go, "lolwhut?" at times. Especially since it was obvious to me that they were going to be alright. There wasn't a moment in the anime where I was like, "OH SHIT, THEY'RE GOING TO DIE, JFDOASJFDIOAJFDKLAFDA!"

. . .

I liked Soul Eater more for the characters, battle scenes, style, and the humor. Other than that there were things that bothered me and I had to ignore it in order to keep watching.

*RANTING END*

Yeah, so not my absolute favorite anime (Pfft. Now I have four anime shows that I like), but I like it. Mostly for the characters and that goes especially for Crona. :aww: *SHOT*

And on his shoulder is Ragnarok . . . but technically he's connected to his back or whatever. :XD:

I mostly felt like messing around with brushes so this wouldn't be plain . . . kinda looks stupid, though. I fail at using brushes. And I fail at drawing anime, so next time I'll probably just draw in more cartoony style. *FACEPALM*
